"Strawberry Fields" J v Langer, 2003 We encourage research and exploration for burgeoning artists, and offer top-notch and unusual approaches to art apprecaition for the non-major. Courses emphasize a comprehensive view of world art from a variety of Western and Eastern cultures. The recently-added Women's Studies section redresses past oversight of major women artists and the contributions of women from many cultures where "art" isn't even a word, but one tries to make everything well and beautifully! Introduction to Visual Arts - ART 1100 (4)This course covers Ancient and Medieval painting, sculpture, and architecture. Satisfies Fine Arts General Education requirement; theoretical-lecture credit. Offered Fall Semesters, 2002 and 2004. Fall semesters also offer a Women's Studies section.Art History I - ART 2900 (4)Ancient to late Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque.
